target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Freight forwarder<\/a> Mercator\u2019s export team recently handled a full container of soft drinks for sea freight to Costa Rica from the UK.\u00a0 The UK exporter, also manufacturer, sold the goods to the company in Costa Rica on a CFR (cost and freight) incoterm, meaning that they were responsible for the shipment up to the sea freight port in Costa Rica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our team therefore handled UK export customs, delivery of the shipping container for loading, haulage to London Gateway port, VGM (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/verification-of-the-gross-mass-of-packed-containers-by-sea\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">verified gross mass<\/a>) and sea freight to Costa Rica, Puerto Limon.\u00a0 There are weekly sailings from the major UK ports to Costa Rica, transit time is around 28 days port to port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img became the responsibility of the buying company in Costa Rica to complete customs clearance and delivery to door.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Although in this case Mercator did not handle the leg to door (on either DDP or DAP), we are able to assist with this as we have a long standing
