Mercator was recently appointed to handle a large consignment of import air freight from Malaysia to the UK.\u00a0 Our agent in Malaysia (from our MarcoPoloLine<\/a> freight forwarder network) arranged the air freight to the UK from Malaysia.\u00a0 Mercator arranged the import customs clearance<\/a> at Heathrow airport, temporary storage in a nearby warehouse and delivery to the UK importer\u2019s door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 40-tonne shipment from Kuala Lumpur airport to London Heathrow comprised of 31 crates of switchgear.  Several of the pieces of air freight were large and so the delivery had to be planned carefully in order to load the freight on to 5 curtain siders for delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Freight from Malaysia<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The UK importer required the air freight to be stored for a couple of days before being delivered to their door in the UK. Mercator arranged for the air freight consignment to be cleared of customs at Heathrow and delivered to a nearby warehouse for temporary storage. This significantly reduced the costs incurred for storage in comparison to leaving the shipment at the airport as storage at the airport can be very costly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
