But over all, from what I've read, it's a veron hold for now. But it's a 2 star read so far. Won't be rating officially yet cause I'm not solid on it.
But over all, from what I've read, it's a very bleak experience and not in an unsettling way, more like....bore me slowly until I go insane way.
The formatting of this book was designed to torture asylum victims. Literary form of the white room. But in the context of this story, it's rather symbolic I guess. The writing style should be my own personal torture chamber, and yet... this is surprisingly easy to read. If it wasn't so dull I would have finished in a few hours and not be embarrassing myself right now, over 2 weeks later and not even half way done...more

This book made an olympic sport out of finding the most disgusting, cringe worthy synonyms for genitalia: meaty rod, tush, plump helmet (plump fucking helmet y'all. I cannot believe this woman), thrumming nubbin, tuft (that's pubes btw. I didn't know what that was and I honestly never needed to), "my eaten hole"..... That is why I am hella bummed. The characters were such a disappointment.

Three words: Smutty hunger games.
I didn't know what to expect when I picked up quiet, little Maci's story. But this actually exceeded all my expectations, probably because I had none after the first book. So much more action and excitement here.
In every prison planet series I've read so far, the heroines always rely on the hero to protect them. But Maci, despite being a voluntary "mute" most of the time, is freakishly smart. They balance each other out perfectly in order to survive.
The only downside is everything happened in a matter of a week. They had nice chemistry, doesn't mean it couldn't have been better. But them being hunted like prey almost felt like a valid reason for their insta-love, so it wasn't a big issue for me.
He leans in for a kiss, then pulls me even closer. “I would fight for you every day of—” “Maci!” The door flies open at his back, and Lilli rushes into the room. “Out!” Callum shouts, without turning. “You’re interrupting a tender fucking moment!”

Which brings me to Jade. Not the brightest bulb but not the dimmest either. Pretty close minded and very much set in her earthly, western views. Which I found ironic.
I didn't expect to be dissecting the characters and world building of an alien smut book so clinically but here we are.

In advance, I apologise for the seizure you're about to have...
Evidently, this book is good and evidently super cute, despite evidently having its flaws. Like for example, it was evidently annoying the amount of times the author evidently used the word "evidently".
Wow....you know when you say a word so many times, it actually becomes distorted and you forget how to pronounce it....that was me just now, googling "evilanantly" like it's a real word...more

"...As I said, she is flawed.” Purr increasing in volume, his words soft despite the rasp and ugliness of his language, the foreigner spoke and the translator supplied, “If you use that word again to describe my kor’yr , I will rip out your throat, castrate your children, and see that your mate is defiled.”
