I wanted to like this. It sounds like something I would like (comparisons to Handmaid’s Tale and Parable of the Sower). This lacked the depth and clarity those two have. The premise is promising but never fully explained. Between the two timelines, the main character has virtually no growth. Disappointing and a bit of a slog to get through. 2.5
