really liked it

Actual rating: 4,5

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is bc my curiosity wasn't answered.

Karen Resolving one's curiosity is key! I agree. 🙂

Sheila Hernandez neither was the main characters… and we’re reading her letters, so how would the curiosity be satisfied? We only know as much as she does.

Yes, I am aware of that.

B I see that you don’t feel satisfied because there was no explanation about anything in the book. But, personally, I don’t that was the point if this book anyway. The book itself was asking questions, almost like a philosophical discussion, what makes a human human. In the end it wasn’t about the destination, but about the journey itself (I know this sounds super cliche but it fits perfectly).

I agree with you. And maybe because we never got the answers is why I still think about this book often.
Maybe if we got the answers I would forget about it already, but this way it visits my mind on weekly basis.

Cheryl Carey My book club is reading this for February. So excited as I haven't read a dystopia novel since college.

Interested to see what you meant by your comment your curiosity wasn't answered.

Laura Yes, it was disconcerting to never know so many of the questions raised, but isn't that something we live with on a daily basis? Why are we here? How did we get here? What happens next? Some religious people might believe they know, but there's no actual evidence to support their beliefs. Yet somehow we manage to go on and do the best we can.

Jasmine Same! I would have given it 5 stars, but I needed to know more!
