This book argues that there is no limit to what we can learn. Humans can solve any problem with the right knowledge. Real progress comes from understanding why things work. We are always just at the beginning; knowledge is endless. We learn by guessing ideas and fixing what’s wrong with them. Open societies that welcome new ideas thrive more than those that resist change. Our ability to explain things makes us incredibly important in the universe. I loved the thought-provoking questions like “Who designed the designer?” The Infinity Hotel paradox was absolutely mind-blowing. “If you think you’ve understood quantum mechanics, then you don’t”

After reading "Homo Sapiens," I wanted to learn more about human history. Humans control the world by telling stories and working together. Many types of humans, like Neanderthals and Denisovans, and many animals, are extinct because of humans. Humans have changed the planet a lot, both in good ways (like making technology) and bad ways (like harming the environment). The book mentions ancient people from places like Sunghir, Ohalo, Lascaux, and Stadel. We are the most dangerous animals

I read Volume 1 a few years ago. This graphic novel makes complicated history and science ideas easy to understand with vivid illustrations. There are many interesting ideas to think about. It's a great educational tool for both children and adults. The story is fun and engaging, using humour and recurring characters. It's a great read for anyone interested in history, anthropology, and how human societies developed.

This book presents a hopeful view of human progress and the future of our species. Humans have consistently improved their lives despite facing obstacles like wars, diseases, and natural disasters. Human prosperity is largely driven by the ability to exchange goods, services, and ideas. The author argues that the progress of agriculture, government, and energy are the turning points of humanity. Technology and innovation can help us find solutions to problems like climate change and resource depletion. The author presents a hopeful view of human progress, emphasizing the importance of cooperation, innovation, and the exchange of ideas in overcoming challenges and improving the quality of life for people around the world. Those interested in science, economics, and history (think Adam Smith, Charles Darwin) would find this book engaging. The book goes into more detail with historical examples and interesting facts. "The idea for plastic came from photographic chemistry." "The camera pill is an idea that came from a conversation between a gastroenterologist and a guided-missile designer." "In the Vienna exhibition, workmen accidentally connect a reserve dynamo with electricity and it begins to spin all by itself, in effect it becomes a motor."

A second world war story about the Imperial Japanese Army in Papua New Guinea. "We'll deliver your bones to your wife." A soldier cut off the remaining four fingers and tossed them in the fire. Imagine a war where everyone's sick and scared, and instead of sending home brave soldiers, you send just one tiny bone, like a finger bone. Imagine a war not with big tanks and loud guns, but with sickness and sadness. It shows that even when things feel hopeless, we can still be kind and find ways to make the world less scary. It is a short story that makes us aware of the dark side of the war.

I enjoyed reading Part One and I felt a bit bored when I read Part Two. Overall, this is one of the best books to tell the living experience in the WWII concentration camp in Auschwitz where there are horrible places such as gas chambers, crematoriums, and massacres. They can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation. You cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can always control what you will feel and do about what happens to you.

I kept this book on my TBR list for so long; it's time to read it! I'm curious to learn how genes influence us. Richard Dawkins argues that genes prioritize their replication, with organisms acting as vehicles for this process. This focus on gene replication, according to Dawkins, can lead to significant evolutionary changes over time. Could humans one day evolve to look like E.T. from the 1982 film? I don't know.

This book explains why some countries became more powerful than others. According to the author, factors such as geography and the environment played a major role. Some regions had more animals and plants that supported human survival and development, which made their societies stronger. Other regions had fewer resources, so they faced greater struggles. The book is fascinating and helps us understand 13,000 years of history and geography across the world.
