I don’t think any were “poorly” written, the author is clearly very talented however I felt in almost every story the plot was boring. Individually. I would rate all stories ⭐️⭐️/5 apart from hell is the absence of God which I would rate ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 and Liking what you see you: a documentary which I would rate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (I would actually have enjoyed a full book on this concept). ...more
I wanted to like this book but it draggggggggged. It felt very preachy for the time it’s set in but I also think in attempt to represent a woman pioneI wanted to like this book but it draggggggggged. It felt very preachy for the time it’s set in but I also think in attempt to represent a woman pioneering women’s place is science it totally overlooks feminine qualities which can run alongside a passion for science and changing the world.
I also don’t think realistically an entire nation of woman who would have an eclectic mix of interests and varying levels of intelligence would be gripped by a cooking show that constantly spoke of ingredients in scientific terms and reactions. I get the whole empowering thing but I have a good interest in science and would prefer to just learn how to actually cook if that was what I was tuning into?
