Creoles doesn't mean a 'class' of enslaved., it means born in the Colonies. At times it applied primarily white French folks born outside of France At some point and in some places Creole refers to Black folks with descent from both France & West Africa. Or so I understand. Many of the definitions are place & time contingent. I also think Spain had similar designations.
